Jaipur rape accused reveals heinous past crimes; raped 35 children
In the latest development, Rajasthan police, who arrested the accused in the Jaipur rape incident recently, have said the culprit has made hair-raising confessions about his history of sexual crimes. According to reports, the accused, identified as Sikandar alias Jivanu (35), confessed to raping 35 other children, and 40 men and transgender persons, the police said. Here are more shocking details.
He's physically more attracted to men: Jaipur Police Commissioner
Jaipur Commissioner of Police Anand Srivastava told Hindustan Times, "The accused used to look after prey every day. He has confessed to raping 35 children and 40 men and transgenders. He's physically more attracted to men." Notably, Sikandar was arrested on Thursday, five days after he abducted and raped a seven-year-old in Jaipur's Shastri Nagar area. He also raped a 4-year-old on June 22.
Police couldn't use CCTV footage; relied on network of informers
Although the police had obtained CCTV footage from the crime scene, Srivastava said it was too "pixelated" to be useful. "The only clue we had was that the same bike was used in both the incidents," Srivastava told HT, adding the bike was stolen and Sikandar had replaced the number plate. However, Srivastava said the police used a network of informers to track him.
Police discovered accused was living in Nai ka Thadi, Jaipur
Further, Srivastava said that head constable Dinesh Yadav received information that Sikandar, a history-sheeter, was back in Shastri Nagar, following which, the police obtained his photographs, confirmed his identity with the victims, and initiated a search. Meanwhile, constable Mohammad Margoob of Subhash Chowk discovered that Sikandar had been living as a tenant in Nai Ka Thadi locality, Jaipur.
Sikandar arrested from Kota's Bhimganj Mandi
Interestingly, Margoob's source learnt that Sikandar was headed to Kota which raised the possibility of him contacting one 'Babu Chaiwala', who, the police knew, came into contact with Sikandar when the latter was moved to Kota jail for an earlier crime. Sikandar reached Kota on Saturday and as suspected, met with Babu in Bhimganj Mandi area where the police arrested him.
Accused has 12 registered cases against him, says police
To note, Sikandar has at least 12 registered cases against him including three cases of rape, one of murder, in which he was sentenced, one case of attempt to murder, two cases of molestation, two cases of theft and three cases of burglary.
Sikandar was convicted in 2004 for 11-year-old boy's rape, murder
In 2004, Sikandar was convicted for the rape and murder of an 11-year-old boy in Jaipur's Mulripura. He was released on interim bail by the high court in 2015. The following year, he was booked for two thefts and three burglaries. In 2017, he was booked for two molestation cases. During interrogation, he said he knew who outed him and threatened to kill him.
