J&K: 40 eco-friendly electric buses to be rolled out soon
Forty eco-friendly, battery-powered buses will soon be rolled out in Jammu and Kashmir, an official said today. The buses with a seating capacity of 35-40 passengers will be introduced in J&K, said Asgar Samoon, the principal secretary of Transport Department. "The passengers can avail them without overloading and these buses will also help us to keep the environment clean," he said during a meeting.
Meeting called to review functioning of JKSRTC
The meeting was called to review the functioning of the J&K State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC). Samoon said the projects of electric buses will cost Rs. 40cr and the initiative will soon get its final shape. He also discussed the software development of Online Passenger Reservation System, installation of GPS in JKSRTC, introduction of centralized payroll system, digitalized fuel management system among others.
