J&K: Civilian killed, 3 jawans injured in Kulgam encounter
A civilian was killed, and at least three jawans were injured in the encounter between terrorists and security forces at Khudwani area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in district's Khudwani area last night, following information about the presence of terrorists there, officials said. Two to three terrorists are reported to be holed up in the area.
Locals started pelting stones on security personnel
According to officials, a gun battle broke out between the militants and the security forces in the early hours. The local residents started pelting stones on security personnel, leading to clashes, officials said, adding that some civilians were injured. Reportedly, a 25-year-old man succumbed to injuries at a hospital. However, it is not immediately known how the deceased got injured.
