Terrorists attack police in J&K: One policeman dead; 8 injured
A Jammu & Kashmir Armed Police party has been targeted by terrorists on the outskirts of Srinagar, near Zeewan, during a routine patrol. One head constable has been killed while eight other policemen were injured when terrorists fired upon their vehicle. CRPF teams have been rushed to the spot. Terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack.
Senior J&K Police Official's statement
The official stated, "Eight cops were injured, and two of them are critical." He added the police team was returning to the JKAP (J&K Armed Police) headquarters after duty when the attack took place. The armed forces' counter-operation to capture the terrorists is reportedly underway.
