UP-cop files complaint against himself for failing to check cow-smuggling!
What's the story
Talk about sincerity. Or bizarreness? A Meerut station house officer (SHO) has lodged a complaint against himself for having failed to prevent cow smuggling!
The incident apparently happened when Tyagi and his team reached a cow slaughterhouse in Chhatari, having received information about smuggling activities.
But the accused managed to escape.
Needless to say, two others accompanying Tyagi were also named in the complaint.

In the melee, the smugglers escaped.
"The beat constable hadn't filed a report and no timely action was taken. Therefore, I took responsibility of the incident," he said.

Explained
Following my own policy, hope this encourages others: Tyagi
Tyagi is certain about his step. When he took charge of Kharkoda Police Station, "I had introduced a concept that cops will be responsible if action isn't taken," he said.
"If negligence is recorded for more than two times, action will be taken against him."
And he thinks his action will "help improve policing." "I believe this will encourage other officers to own up."

Till now, Tyagi has taken action against 25 cops
Before he had earned his own wrath, Tyagi had taken action against at least 25 others, including 19 constables who were caught taking bribes.
UP Police have often faced criticism for failing to control law and order in the state.
In such a situation, Tyagi's gesture undoubtedly sounds peculiar, but it serves as an example of justice and uprightness!
