All you need to know about IRCTC's 'Ramayana Yatra'
In a tweet dated August 8, the IRCTC i.e. the tourism wing of the Indian Railways, announced the launch of the 'Ramayana Yatra' travel package. The 11 nights-12 days long trip will cover the holy Hindu pilgrimage sites of Chitrakoot, Shringverpur, Tulsi Manas Mandir, Darbhanga, Sitamarhi, Ayodhya, Panchavati and Rameshwaram. The tour package, featuring AC-only train travel starts at Rs. 39,350 per person.

About the route of travel, boarding and de-boarding stations
The route of the journey will be Chitrakoot - Shringverpur - Tulsi Manas Mandir - Darbhanga - Sita Marhi - Ayodhya - Panchavati - Rameshwaram. The entire journey will be covered via AC trains of the Indian Railways. Boarding points of the trip are Kochuveli, Tirunelveli, Madurai, Trichy, Chennai Egmore, Vijayawada, while one can deboard at Vijayawada, Chennai Egmore, Trichy, and Madurai.
About travel segments, food offered, and date of departure
There are three classes to opt from viz. deluxe (1AC), comfort (2AC), and standard (3AC), with rates starting at Rs. 39, 350 for a standard triple-occupancy segment, going as high as Rs. 60,750 for the deluxe single-occupancy class. For breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the Indian Railways will be offering vegetarian meals and packaged drinking water. The date of departure is August 31.

The bookings for the tour package can be done through IRCTC's official website. Additionally, one can also get their bookings done at IRCTC's tourist facilitation centre, zonal offices and regional offices. Notably, the IRCTC has also launched other special tours including a 4 nights, 5 days trip to Sri Lanka, and a similar duration tour to Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
