Sheena Bora murder: Indrani accuses husband Peter of framing her
In a fresh allegation, Indrani Mukerjea now claims her husband Peter and her driver conspired to murder her daughter Sheena and frame her instead. Peter's call records could establish her allegations, Indrani claimed, and sought access to them. This comes just over two weeks after she accused Rahul, Peter's son and her stepson, of framing her "for a crime that he probably committed".
The twisted Sheena Bora murder case
Indrani and Peter made headlines when Sheena Bora's 2012 murder was discovered in 2015. The highlight was the twisted relationships: Indrani mothered Sheena with first husband Siddhartha. Then she married Sanjeev Khanna and finally Peter. Peter fathered Rahul with his previous wife Shabnam. Indrani, Sanjeev and her driver Shyamwar Rai (accused-turned-approver) allegedly killed Sheena as she was dating Rahul. Peter was arrested for conspiracy.
'Peter may have manipulated circumstances to frame me, influence witnesses'
Even as Rai is cross-examined by Indrani's lawyers, she has now claimed that Peter, Rai and others conspired to abduct Sheena in 2012, murder her and destroy evidence. "I also believe that Peter…may have manipulated circumstances to frame me and influence witnesses," a letter by her reads. Peter's call records would help establish his and others' involvement in the crime, she claimed.
Just two weeks ago, Indrani blamed Rahul for the murder
Incidentally, a little over two weeks ago, she had written a letter to Peter, from Byculla Jail to Arthur Road Jail, complaining about his behavior towards her; the two are close to obtaining a divorce. In it, she also blames Rahul for Sheena's murder and for "lying and fram(ing) Sanjeev and me for a crime that he probably committed".
Indrani's alleged role in the crime, according to Rai
According to Rai, it was Indrani who wanted to murder Sheena and her brother Mikhail. She allegedly assured Rai a "job for life", healthcare for his family and education for his children if he helped her in the crime.
