Man, high on bhang, attempts to open flight door mid-air
A 29-year-old man was arrested for allegedly trying to open the door of a Hyderabad-bound IndiGo flight while it was still in the air. The incident, which occurred on May 21, only came to public knowledge on May 24. The passenger, a resident of Chandragirinagar in Hyderabad's Gajularamaram, had reportedly consumed bhang, an edible made from cannabis, before boarding the plane.
Passenger's unusual behavior leads to mid-air scare
According to reports, the man began acting strangely shortly after the flight took off, leading the crew to move him. Despite this, he insisted on sitting next to his two friends with whom he had traveled to Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. As the plane was preparing for landing, he attempted to open the aircraft's door but was stopped by airline staff and fellow passengers.
Arrest and subsequent bail of the IndiGo passenger
Upon landing at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, airline staff lodged a complaint against the passenger. This led to his arrest and a case being registered against him. However, he was later granted bail after medical reports were submitted indicating that he was suffering from health issues. His family members approached officials, claiming that he was a psychiatric patient, and produced supporting medical documents.
