#ISayTheyHear trend has obsessed Indian Twitter users; reactions are hilarious
What's the story
In the age of internet, all it takes is one tweet, one post, or one photo, for everyone to show their creativity.
Something similar happened with Indian Twitter users recently. A random 'I say, they hear' tweet, has taken over desi web like wildfire.
If you don't know what this new trend is, read on.
Beginning
Indians love stereotypes and this exact emotion started the trend
India is a diverse country. Yeah, no real information here.
But do you ever wonder, how we Indians never take steps to know more about our country? If someone mentions a state or a city, the first thing which comes to our mind is the stereotype attached to it.
This same emotion drove the 'I say, they hear' trend.
Details
A simple tweet on Butter Chicken started the thought-provoking trend
It all started on May 25, when a Twitter user, @roooossshhiiiii, shared what must have seemed like a casual tweet.
She tweeted, "I say Punjabi, they hear butter chicken." To everyone's surprise, a tweet with no hashtag took over the internet quickly.
Most of the Twitter users didn't even know how the trend started, but they hopped on the bandwagon, nevertheless.

Consider this trend as a learning opportunity for yourself
While most Punjabis love good butter chicken, there are many who don't. Similarly, not everyone in Delhi goes around saying 'Tu janta nahi mera baap kon hai'.
The latest trend introduced us to several stereotypes, which we never would have given a second thought to.
But, hey! At least nobody is taking them to heart. Here are a few for you to enjoy.
