J&K: 2 terrorists killed in Nowshera region
The Indian security forces have neutralized two terrorists during an anti-infiltration operation in the Nowshera region of Jammu and Kashmir. The operation, known as "Operation Kanchi," was initiated based on intelligence from agencies and local police about a potential infiltration attempt. This successful mission took place in the Lam area of Nowshera, a region previously targeted by terrorist activities.
Weapons recovered, operation still underway
The White Knight Corps confirmed the neutralization of two terrorists and recovery of significant war-like stores, including two AK-47s and a pistol. The anti-infiltration operation is still ongoing in the region. This successful mission comes just days before Jammu and Kashmir is set to hold assembly elections for the first time since 2014, following the abrogation of Article 370 of the constitution.
Recent anti-infiltration successes in Jammu and Kashmir
This operation follows a similar success on August 29, when three terrorists attempting to cross the Line of Control (LoC) in the Machhal and Tangdhar sectors of Jammu and Kashmir were eliminated. The Indian Army, JKP, and BSF had laid ambushes on likely infiltration routes in both sectors based on credible inputs from intelligence agencies corroborated by local police.
