Indian-origin NASA astronaut Sunita Williams has returned to Earth after an unplanned nine-month-long space mission.
She landed off the coast of Florida, along with fellow astronauts Butch Wilmore, Nick Hague, and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov.
After her safe return today, political leaders across India including Rajnath Singh, Chandrababu Naidu and Pinarayi Vijayan have expressed their admiration and congratulations.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh took to X to laud Williams's journey.
He wrote, "Delighted at the safe return of NASA's #Crew9 on Earth! The crew comprising of India's daughter Sunita Williams and other astronauts have rewritten the history of human endurance and perseverance in Space."
Singh added that her incredible journey would inspire millions across the globe.

Minister of Science and Technology Jitendra Singh also celebrated Williams's return on X. He called it a moment of glory, pride, and relief for the world.
"The whole world comes together to celebrate the safe return of this illustrious daughter of India who has instantly gone down in history for her courage," he wrote.
