Indian Navy special-forces thwart piracy attempt in Gulf of Aden
The Indian Navy has warded off a piracy attempt against the 85,000-tonne Indian-flagged bulk carrier MV Jag Amar in the Gulf of Aden. A special-forces MARCOS team on-board the INS Trishul helped capture 12 armed pirates who had boarded the merchant vessel. The navy recovered an AK-47, and a speed skiff from the pirates. The INS Trishul is conducting anti-piracy patrols in the region.
