Join Indian Navy 2019: Applications open for B.Tech course
On Friday, the Indian Navy has opened applications to join the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala for a four year degree course under the 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme. As per the official website, the last date to apply is June 17. All the selected candidates will be joining the Indian Naval Academy in Kerala. Read on to know more about the application details.
Minimum 70% in PCM to apply for the program
In order to apply for the program, candidates must fulfil the following conditions: Age: Born between July 2, 2000, and January 1, 2003 (both dates included) Educational Qualification: Passed senior secondary examination (10+2) or equivalent with 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics combined; and 50% in English (either in Class X or XII) Exam: Must have appeared for the JEE (Main) 2019.
Applicants can only be unmarried male candidates
Further, the applicant should be unmarried male candidates. Follow the steps below to apply: 1- Visit the official link provided here, joinindiannavy.gov.in 2- Click on the 'apply here' link 3- Register yourself with virtual Aadhaar ID or without Aadhaar 4- Fill in your personal and educational details 5- Upload the required documents 6- Print application copy for further reference.
Checklist: Documents you will need to upload for registration
For your convenience, keep the following documents ready before starting the application process: 1- Date of Birth proof (as per 10th/12th certificates) 2- Class X and XII marksheets 3- JEE Main 2019 scorecard 4- Recent passport size photograph. Note that all the documents should be in JPG or FITT format for uploading online.
Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on JEE score
Notably, the candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their JEE Main score. They will be called for the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview. As per the notice, SSB interview will be scheduled between August and October 2019 in Bangalore, Bhopal, Coimbatore, Visakhapatnam and Kolkata. All the candidates selected after the medical test during SSB will commence training in Kerala from January 2020.
Details about the interview process
To note, the interview will be conducted in two stages: Stage 1 and Stage 2. Stage 1 test consists of Intelligence test, Picture Perception test and Group Discussion. It will be an elimination round. Stage 2 test consists of Psychological testing, Group testing and Interview which will last for 4 days. If you qualify this round, you need to undergo a detailed medical examination.
Four year B.Tech degree will be awarded by JNU
Meanwhile, as per the official notice the selected candidates will be awarded B.Tech degree by the Jawaharlal Nehru University in "applied Electronics & Communication Engineering (for Executive Branch), Mechanical Engineering (for Engineering Branch including Naval Architect specialisation) or Electronics & Communication Engineering (for Electrical Branch)."
