Amid escalating tensions, wedding between Pakistani-girl and Indian-man called off
What's the story
A wedding between an Indian man of Barmer district in Rajasthan and a Pakistani girl of Sindh province was canceled as the former couldn't reach the neighboring country due to prevailing tensions.
The man named Mahendra Singh of Khejad Ka Paar village in the bordering district said the train in which he had booked tickets wasn't allowed to leave India after Pakistan suspended operations.

His bride-to-be is a resident of Chagan Kanwar of Sinoi village in Amarkot district.
Mahendra had booked tickets in Thar Express. The train runs between Pakistan's Lahore and India's Attari on Monday and Thursday.
Mahendra told ANI, getting visas wasn't a cakewalk for him. He said he spoke to BJP leader and MoS Ministry of Agriculture Gajendra Singh for it.

"I spoke to Gajendra Singh for getting the visas for Pakistan. It was only because of him that we were able to get visas for five people. We had made all preparations and distributed invitation cards to the relatives," Mahendra said.
Tensions
After Pulwama attack, India and Pakistan's ties worsened
But the tensions foiled the family's plans. India and Pakistan are witnessing the worst escalation in decades which started after Jaish-e-Mohammed carried out the dastardly Pulwama attack.
After the martyrdom of 40 CRPF soldiers, India took a tough stand against Pakistan asking it to take steps against homegrown terror.
When Pakistan washed its hands off, Indian Air Force launched a discreet and successful operation.

IAF jets breached Pakistani airspace, dropped bombs on JeM camp
On the intervening night of February 25 and 26, 12 Mirage-2000 jets dropped explosives on JeM's camp in Balakot. The airstrikes unnerved Pakistan which saw it as an act of aggression.
A day later, 24 PAF jets attempted to breach Indian airspace but their plan was foiled by the timely intervention of 8 IAF aircraft.
India slammed Pakistan for targeting military installments.

India handed over dossier to Pakistan to highlight JeM's role
The Pakistani envoy was summoned and India reiterated that airstrikes were a pre-emptive operation aimed at terrorist outfits.
India also handed over a dossier to Pakistan highlighting JeM's role in Pulwama attack, the training which was provided and routes that terrorists took.
As India and Pakistan stared at full-fledged war, members of the international community asked both countries to exercise restraint.
