Indian Army invites applications for SSC at Rs. 56,100 stipend
The Indian Army has invited applications for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in all arms/services. The positions are open for unmarried male and female engineering graduates, but widows of defense personnel are also eligible. The training will start in April'19 at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai. During the training, candidates will get a stipend of Rs. 56,100 per month. Details here.
Who can apply?
The army is looking for over 250 candidates for various branches, including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautical, Computer Science, Telecommunication, Electronics, Architecture and more. Candidates need to possess the relevant degree or be studying in the final year of their course. The latter will have to submit proof of passing by April'19. Defense widows need to be a graduate in any discipline or in B.Tech, depending on the profile.
Age restriction, pay and other conditions
Candidates have to be between 20-27 years of age. For widows, the limit is 35 years. The pay will depend on the position, but lieutenants can expect a minimum of Rs. 56,000. This can go up to Rs. 2,50,000 for Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), plus allowances. Selected candidates won't be allowed to marry during the 49-week training.

Fill all details on the form. Once registered, click on 'Apply Online' on your dashboard. An 'Eligibility' page will open. Fill your details to see which arms you qualify for. Fill the application form. Make sure all details are correct.
