For those who dare to fly, and always dreamed of being a fighter pilot, the Indian Air Force has a surprise for you. It is going to launch a mobile game with the intention of educating people about our country's air force and attempt to recruit interested citizens. A next-gen mobile game for interested fighter pilots
The upcoming mobile game will come with augmented reality features, allowing players to experience the life of a pilot. Interested people can also apply to IAF through the gaming app, allowing IAF to recruit people in an interesting way. The game comes with a single player mode where missions can be played offline, an online multi-player and a section for career information.
Single player mode: Various aircraft, tutorial mission, engaging narrative
There will be 10 single player missions where gamers can use various IAF aircraft and their response, reach, flexibility and precision will be tested. The engaging narrative will also inform gamers about the tactics and weapons of the IAF, as well as its future strategies. Notably, there will be a tutorial mission teaching gamers how to handle the aircraft, before they play missions.
Multi-player mode: Online, two gameplay options, long-range missiles
The multi-player mode will be online and have two gameplay options. One will be a squad vs squad gameplay, whereas the other will be the last man standing match. What is most exciting about this mode is the ability to use long-range missiles as well as engaging in dogfights with opponents. Players have to use a combination of smart movements and shooting.
When is the game releasing?
While the game must have aspiring fighter pilots excited, it will only release in phases. February is expected to see the release of the single-player mode while the multi-player one will not be launched before June. The game is open to pre-registering and those who have already pre-registered will be the first ones to be informed when the application launches.
An IAF game already exists, but hasn't been updated
Notably, IAF already has an official game on the PlayStore, titled Guardians of the Skies. The game, by Threye: Military Games, came out in 2014 and has not been updated since 2015. It too promised the experience of living the life of a pilot and flying for India. Hopefully, the upcoming game will receive regular updates and be a bigger hit among gamers.
