Government to build corridor from Gurdaspur to International Border

India will build a corridor from Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district (Punjab) to the International Border for Sikh pilgrims visiting Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur on the banks of Pakistan's Ravi river, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said today.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to commemorate 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji.

India to request Pakistan for a corridor from its side
The Union Home Minister added that the corridor will provide easy passage to pilgrims throughout the year. India will also request neighboring Pakistan to recognize the sentiments of the Sikh community and develop a corridor with suitable facilities in their territory as well.
