
India raises Khalistani group's anti-India activities with Tulsi Gabbard

At a recent meeting between the US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, India raised concerns over the anti-India activities of the Khalistani outfit SFJ (Sikh For Justice) in the United States of America.
The Indian government urged the US administration to take tough action against the illegal outfit reported ANI.
Diplomatic visit
Gabbard's visit marks significant diplomatic engagement
Gabbard's visit to India is significant since it marks the first high-level visit by a senior official of the Donald Trump administration.
Singh said he was satisfied over meeting with Gabbard, adding that discussions were aimed at further strengthening the India-US partnership.
Gabbard's trip will also include addressing the Raisina Dialogue in Delhi on March 18, a multinational security officials' summit.
Intelligence collaboration
Gabbard meets with NSA Ajit Doval
Before meeting Singh, Gabbard met National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and attended a conclave of global intelligence leaders hosted by India.
Discussions focused on improving intelligence sharing and close collaboration in the security sector, under the India-US global strategic partnership.
Top global intelligence chiefs including Canadian spy chief Daniel Rogers and UK National Security Advisor Jonathan Powell attended the conclave.
Security concerns
Focus on terrorism and Indo-Pacific region
The conclave also centered on the sharing of intelligence and on cooperation to fight terrorism and threats posed by emerging technologies.
It also discussed security in the Indo-Pacific, efforts to counter terror funding and money laundering, and issues related to extradition and immigration.
India reiterated its concerns over anti-India elements operating from outside, including pro-Khalistan elements.
