Hindu Mahasabha calls for Gwalior Bandh during India-Bangladesh test match
The Hindu Mahasabha has called for a bandh in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, on October 6 to protest the upcoming India-Bangladesh cricket match, citing "atrocities" against Hindus in the neighboring country. A T20 match between India and Bangladesh is set for October 6 in Gwalior. The group is opposing the event, as confirmed by its National Vice-President, Jaiveer Bharadwaj, during a press briefing in Gwalior on Monday.
Protest against 'atrocities' on Hindus in Bangladesh
He argued that "atrocities" against Hindus continue in Bangladesh, making it inappropriate to play cricket with the country. The Hindu Mahasabha has called for a "Gwalior Bandh" on the day of the match, though essential goods will not be restricted, he added. Additionally, the leader of the outfit raised concerns about the "adulteration" of laddoos at the Tirupati Balaji temple.
'Capital punishment...': What Bharadwaj said
He demanded capital punishment for those involved in the alleged adulteration of the laddoos. He said that this incident has hurt Hindu sentiments as these laddoos were distributed during the consecration function of Ram temple in Ayodhya. The country's food safety regulator has issued a show-cause notice to a Tamil Nadu-based firm for allegedly supplying substandard ghee to temple authority—Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. Additionally, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday announced a Special Investigation Team to probe the allegations.
