IMD forecasts heavy rains in these states: Check here
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a series of weather alerts predicting heavy rainfall across various regions in India. The warnings cover areas including Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Karnataka, Northeast India, Rajasthan and Delhi. In Telangana specifically, isolated heavy rains are expected in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally and Mulugu districts on Wednesday.
Thunderstorms and rainfall forecast for Telangana, Hyderabad
The IMD also anticipates thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong surface winds in Adilabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam and Mahabubabad of Telangana. For Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, a generally cloudy weather is expected over the next 24 hours. This could potentially bring light to moderate rain or thunder showers with gusty winds. The city's temperatures are predicted to range between a maximum of 27°C and a minimum of 23°C.
Heavy rains expected in Kerala, Coastal Karnataka and Northeast India
The IMD has also projected heavy rains in Kerala and Mahe till Wednesday, and in Coastal Karnataka. For Northeast India, predictions include heavy rains till Thursday in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Arunachal Pradesh and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands should expect prolonged heavy rains till Thursday.
Severe weather conditions predicted for East Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh
The IMD has issued orange alerts indicating severe weather conditions, particularly very heavy rains in East Rajasthan next week. Isolated heavy rains are expected over West Uttar Pradesh and East Uttar Pradesh as well in the coming days. West Rajasthan will likely receive significant rainfall till Sunday.
Red alert issued for Gujarat due to heavy rainfall
A red alert has been issued for Gujarat, especially Bharuch and Surat districts, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy downpours on Wednesday. The IMD Ahmedabad stated, "Heavy to very heavy rains at isolated places with isolated extremely heavy falls very likely in the districts of Gujarat region namely Chhotaudepur, Narmada and Surat today."
Delhi experiences sunny weather, 'yellow' alert issued
In Delhi, residents experienced sunny weather on Tuesday with temperatures hitting 36.2°C, slightly above the seasonal norm. The IMD has forecast generally cloudy skies with a chance of light to moderate rain and thundershowers for Wednesday. A "yellow" alert remains over the capital, indicating that worsening weather conditions could potentially disrupt daily life. After morning rains on Monday, the temperature climbed further reaching 33.6°C on Tuesday with humidity levels varying between 60% and 83%.
