Now, obtain an M-Tech degree off campus from IIT-Madras
IIT Madras, is now offering its students the chance to obtain an M-Tech degree without being physically present at the campus. In a first of its kind initiative, IIT Madras enlisted 31 M-Tech students who will be able to complete the course from their workplaces. The first programme offered is for automobile sector. It will gradually be expanded to communication, information security and aerospace.
About the programme
Director of IIT-M, Bhaskar Ramamurthy said, "The programme we are launching is M-Tech in automative technology for industry employees wishing to upgrade their qualifications and skills. A part of the curriculum will be common, and a part will be tailored to their specific needs."
The working of the programme
Under this model of remote learning, a coordinator and classroom would be put up at industry locations. IIT-M faculty will impart teaching in the evenings. This model of learning does not require employees to take leaves from their offices and travel to different locations. Students don't need to be physically present on campus to complete the course.
