Help this young IIT engineer to fight his life battle
On April 15, time stopped for the Mumbai-based Kakati family. Their youngest child, a 27-year-old IIT engineer, drowned in a swimming pool and suffered brain hypoxic damage. He also suffers from cerebral palsy, a condition he has had since childhood; that had affected his speech and hearing capabilities. Here's how you can help him.
Since oxygen couldn't travel to his brain, he suffered hypoxia
He was rushed to Kokilaben hospital in Andheri, where he was immediately admitted to critical care. According to his doctor, Sunit suffered two episodes of cardiac arrest post that and was given CPR twice, for more than a couple of minutes. Since oxygen couldn't travel to his brain, given his condition, he suffered the critical hypoxia and has been on ventilator support since then.
Family reserves exhausted, Sunit's sister appeals for help
Now the family needs your help. They have exhausted their savings in the initial 30 days of his hospitalization. Moreover, their father's recent hospitalization for cervical spondylitis has reduced their reserves. The ICU charges, being Rs. 1L per day, are obviously difficult to bear. Currently, he is in a support and recovery mode.
