What the student said in the suicide note
Maloo's suicide note suggested that he took the extreme step as he was unable to cope with the trauma of being sexually abused during childhood by two of his older cousins.
Maloo, despite coming out of the trauma, continued to be haunted by the memories, and was depressed when he came to Delhi.
In the note, he asked for the forgiveness of his family.

IIT-Delhi wasn't aware of Maloo's depression, says DCP
"We were later told that the young man was depressed and was seeing a doctor. The institute was not aware of his problem as it is difficult to know of these issues unless the student opens up to us," said DCP Milind Mahadeo Dumbere.
