IIM Ahmedabad to launch first international center in Dubai
The renowned Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) is setting up its first international center in Dubai in partnership with UAE-based BRS Ventures. It is expected to start operations in June. It will begin with executive programs "relevant to the region" in both distance-learning and customized training formats. Longer-duration courses will be launched based on response and other factors, the institute said.

The IIMA, started in partnership with Harvard Business School, launched Executive Education Programs using case study method and other relevant cases. These have significantly grown in demand, IIMA said. "They will be globally relevant to ensure cohorts being trained aren't restricted to any region." "When longer-duration programs are launched, graduates will be entitled for preferred employment at our own diversified businesses," BRS said.
Agreement signed at World Government Summit 2018 in Dubai
IIMA will be responsible for providing the academic and training expertise, while BRS, which manages portfolios in diversified businesses as well as operates schools, will handle required support, including infrastructure, industry links and logistics. "This partnership is expected to benefit both the organizations, besides benefiting the UAE regional business and governance," IIMA said. The agreement was signed at the World Government Summit-2018 in Dubai.
Justin Trudeau to become first foreign PM to visit IIMA
Canadian PM Justin Trudeau is all set to deliver a lecture at the IIMA on February 19 during his upcoming week-long India visit. This will be the first time a foreign country's prime minister will be visiting the IIMA.
