IIM Shillong completes 100% placement; top package at Rs. 26L
IIM Shillong has completed 100% placement for its Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM) for 2017-18 batch. The average salary of the batch was Rs. 15.51L per annum, while the highest domestic salary stood at Rs. 26L, officials said. All students got hired except two, who chose to pursue entrepreneurial ventures of their own, an official said. There were 41 recruiters and 169 participants.
Consulting emerged as the highest paying domain
The mean for the top quartile of the batch stood at Rs. 21L per annum and that for the top half increased to Rs. 18.5L per annum, officials said. "Consulting emerged as the highest paying domain, with the average CTC of Rs. 21L per annum. The highest CTC in the domain was offered by Deloitte," IIM-S Placement officer Merlvin Mukhim said in a statement.
Sales & Marketing remaina the most sought domain
Sales & Marketing continued to be the most sought domain. In this category, the multiple offers were made by prominent recruiters such as BPCL, Beiersdorf (Nivea), Berger Paints, Dell, Delhivery, IOCL, ITC, Kohler, Piramal Enterprises, Tata Steel, Titan, Tata Motors and Value Labs. The financial domain recruiters were RBL Bank, Fidelity Management Research, HSBC, ICICI Bank, JP Morgan Chase & Co besides Yes Bank.
Barclays, Nomura, HDFC Bank were new recruiters
The placement season also witnessed some new recruiters including Barclays, Nomura, HDFC Bank, JP Morgan & Chase. BFSI and IT & Analytics once again emerged as the two most preferred sectors with 38% and 18% of the students securing offers in these sectors, respectively. Earlier this year, the institute completed its summer placement successfully, securing 187 offers with the highest stipend of Rs. 3L.
