IIM-A Director Ashish Nanda steps down
Ashish Nanda, director of IIM Ahmedabad has decided to step down from his post. According to Nanda, he will step down on 1 September, when he completes 4 years out of his 5 year term. He said he was leaving as it was difficult living away from his wife and son. IIM-A chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla has accepted his resignation.
Who is Ashish Nanda?
Ashish Nanda is the director of IIM Ahmedabad. Prior to this he worked for 7 years as a professor at Harvard Law School. He worked for 13 years as a professor at Harvard Business School prior to that. Nanda graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi. He went on to complete his MBA from IIM-A, AM in Economics (Harvard), Ph.D. in Business Economics (Harvard).
Kumar Mangalam Birla resignation "with regret"
In his response, IIM-A Chiarman Kumar Mangalam Birla said "I fully understand your need to be with family and the inconvenience that the separation is causing you. Hence, I accept your resignation, albeit with regret."
