Gurugram: IAS-aspirant dies after checking into hotel with male friend
A 23-year-old woman who was preparing for the IAS exam died early Tuesday, around four hours after she checked in to a guesthouse in Gurugram's Sector 46 with a companion. The man, who is currently absconding, was last seen when he admitted her to a hospital in Sector 44 around midnight. The parents of Priyanka, the deceased, have alleged that the man had kidnapped and murdered her.
Priyanka was seen "unconscious" hours after she checked in
Since the last three months, Priyanka had been staying in a PG in Mukherjee Nagar and was attending coaching classes. Around 8:30pm Monday, she and Ravinder Yadav (24) checked in to a room in the guesthouse which is 9km away from her parental house in Kadipur industrial area. Sometime later, another guest saw him carrying her out in his arms; Priyanka was apparently unconscious.
Ravinder was harassing and stalking Priyanka: Father
The guest then offered to take them to a hospital in his car. Police received a call from the hospital around 1am, about a woman who was brought dead. However, her parents made contrary claims. Prem Chand, the father, said Ravinder was their neighbor who used to harass and stalk her. They had warned him to leave her alone, he said.
Police file case of murder based on parent's allegations
In his police complaint, Chand stated, "My daughter left for her PG from our house around 6pm. At 10pm, she spoke to my wife over the phone saying she was about to reach the PG." Based on this, police have filed a case of murder.
Viscera report to confirm cause of death
A preliminary autopsy conducted at the Gurugram Civil Hospital yesterday suggested "a partial rupture of liver leading to internal bleeding." "The body had no external visible injury marks and no sign of assault or retaliation," confirmed Dr Yogendra. He added the exact cause of death would be known after the viscera report is out. Meanwhile, police has launched a manhunt for Ravinder.
