Indian Air Force Vice Chief shoots himself in thigh accidentally
The Vice Chief of the Indian Air Force (IAF), Air Marshal SB Deo, is understood to have accidentally shot himself in his thigh, sources said yesterday. He suffered a minor injury and was rushed to a military hospital in Delhi where he underwent a surgery; his condition is stable presently. Pistol to be sent for forensic analysis
The pistol, from which Deo shot his thigh accidentally, will be sent for forensic analysis. Deo, who was born in Nagpur, had taken over as Vice Chief of the Air Staff last January. He was commissioned as a fighter pilot in the IAF in June 1979, and is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, Tamil Nadu.
