Hyderabad: Teenager rejects married man's proposal, he kills her
What's the story
In an appalling incident, a teenager died after she was set ablaze by a jilted lover for rejecting his marriage proposal.
The incident took place in Hyderabad on Saturday at around 8 AM. The accused identified as 40-year-old Ibrahim doused petrol on 19-year-old Shabana Begum and her sister-in-law Hazeena Begum.
Shabana suffered 100% injuries and died in the evening.

What happened
Married and father of two, Ibrahim wanted to marry Shabana
Ibrahim and Shabana met through Facebook, over a year ago. He wanted to marry her, but when Shabana's family learned he was already married and had two children, they rejected the proposal.
This didn't go down well with Ibrahim. On Saturday, he poured petrol on Shabana and Hazeena, set himself on fire and ran towards the two women.
Hazeena wanted to save Shabana, but couldn't.

Shabana's elder sister revealed, "When he (Ibrahim) started threatening us, we registered a complaint at the Tappachabutra police station. We had called people and have even talked to him many times, but the man was adamant about marrying her".
Action taken
Chances of survival of both Hazeena and Ibrahim are low
Hazeena suffered 65% burns while Ibrahim 85%. Osmania hospital superintendent Dr Nagendar said the chances of survival are low.
"All three have suffered over 30% burns; this brings down their chances of survival," he said.
A case was registered at Tappachabutra police under IPC Sections 462 (punishment for the same offence when committed by person entrusted with custody) and 307 (attempt to murder).
