Hyderabad: Two "well-qualified beggars" get jobs, thanks to prison department!

What's the story

In what reflects the sorry state of India's unemployed youth, two "well-qualified" beggars -Uday Kumar, Murgan- were found begging on Hyderabad's streets. However, Hyderabad's Prison Department came to their rescue and provided them jobs with Rs. 12,000 monthly salary. Kumar, a BCom (Computers) graduate, was hired as a computer operator while Murgan was appointed as an assistant therapist at an Ayurvedic Hospital. Know more!

One was a commerce graduate; the other, a therapist

Hyderabad's prison staff picked Uday Kumar and Murgan who were begging on roads and shifted them to "Anand Ashram". They later learned Kumar was a BCom (Computers) degree-holder while Murgan had an experience as a therapist at a massage center. Uday was provided the job of a computer operator while Murgan was appointed as an assistant therapist at a prison department-run Ayurvedic Hospital.

Dhananjaya, Jailor as well as the in-charge of prison department's Ayurvedic Hospital at Hyderabad's Chanchalguda prison, said: "On the basis of their (Uday Kumar and Murgan's) interests and skills, the Director General of Police Prisons has given orders to provide employment to them."
