Hyderabad: Man sets world record by feeding over 1,000 people
On Sunday, Gowtham Kumar from Hyderabad made a new world record by single-handedly feeding more than 1,000 people in a day. Kumar, who is the founder of a Hyderabad-based NGO Serve Needy, has now entered the Universal Book of Records. Notably, Kumar founded his NGO in 2014 and has been involved in numerous social activities since then. Here's his remarkable story.
Kumar served people at three different locations
In an attempt to reach the target, Kumar fed people at three different locations in the city. The locations included: Gandhi Hospital, Rajendra Nagar and the Amma Nanna orphanage home. The Indian representative of the Universal book of Records, Ramana Rao, and its Telangana representative, TM Srilatha, presented the award to Kumar.
No one deserves to die like an orphan, believes Kumar
While talking to the media, Kumar said, "My organization's main motto is 'No one deserves to die like an orphan. We are expanding our organization so that no one will die in hunger." As of now, Kumar's NGO has around 140 volunteers. Interestingly, the NGO works towards several social causes. It also runs an old-age and orphanage home.

He also performs last rites of people from different religions
In order to accomplish everything his organization stands for, Kumar also performs last rites of those who either can't afford it or don't have any closed ones. Kumar performs all the rituals irrespective of the faith of the person he cremates. If you think Kumar is doing something good and would like to help him, you can also contribute.
