Hyderabad industrialist stabbed to death by grandson over property

An 86-year-old Hyderabad-based industrialist, V C Janardhan Rao, was allegedly murdered by his grandson over a property dispute.
The incident occurred at Rao's residence in Somajiguda on the night of February 6.
The accused, K Kirti Teja (28), reportedly stabbed his grandfather multiple times with a knife during an argument over property distribution.
Dispute escalation
Argument over property distribution turns fatal
Reportedly, the argument between Teja and his grandfather started when Teja and his mother visited Rao's house.
While his mother went to get coffee, the argument over property distribution escalated.
Teja accused Rao of being indifferent toward him since childhood and refusing to distribute property to him.
This led to the fatal attack where Rao sustained multiple stab wounds.
Arrest and injuries
Mother injured in attack, accused arrested
During the attack, Teja also stabbed his mother when she tried to intervene. She was injured and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
After the incident, Teja was arrested on Saturday by Panjagutta police. A case of murder has been registered against him and further investigation is underway.

Accused recently returned from US, investigation continues
Teja had recently returned to Hyderabad from the United States after completing his master's degree.
The exact number of stab wounds inflicted on Rao will be confirmed based on the post-mortem examination report. However, initial reports suggest Rao sustained as many as 70 stab wounds.
Further investigation by the police in the case is ongoing.
