Meet the cop who sings to spread awareness about crime
There is a new composer in India and unlike, the meaningless songs surrounding us, each of his songs have a message for the public. Meet Anjapally Nagamallu, a traffic police personnel from Hyderabad, who has been working for more than nine years now. And for the last seven years, he has been composing songs to create awareness about social issues. Here's more on him.
Nagamallu realized music is best way to engage with youngsters
Nagamallu, who works as a traffic inspector in Hyderabad's LB Nagar area, wanted to spread awareness about crime. He knew that the young generation consumes a lot of information, rather passively. And therefore, the banal awareness messages would not work with them. Further, he realized that music garnered more attention and that too effectively. So he started composing songs!
He has uploaded 20 videos in 7 years
Nagamallu started composing songs in 2012. Since then, he has uploaded nearly 20 videos on social media platforms like YouTube and Facebook. Many people, including his seniors, have appreciated his efforts. Speaking about his unique idea, Nagamallu said, "I thought this was the best way to create awareness among people on different social evils." Notably, Nagamallu sings in Telugu.
Several of his videos have gone viral on internet
Since the inception of the idea, Nagamallu has covered several issues including student suicides, superstitions, voting, online fraud, traffic awareness and even Pulwama martyrs. Nagamallu composes music whenever he is not working. Further, a team of 21 youngsters helps him. The love for his videos can be measured with the fact that many of his videos have gone viral on the internet.
Soon, Nagamullu will release two more songs
He further added, "The most appreciated songs were regarding the menace of fake news on social media and a song with the theme motivating youngsters to join uniform services." Nagamallu plans to spread awareness in the whole country and hopes to leave a mark with his initiative. Currently, he is working on two more songs which will be released soon.
