After vet's rape-murder, another woman's burnt body found in Hyderabad
A day after the gruesome rape and murder of a Hyderabad veterinary doctor sent shockwaves across the nation, another woman's charred body was found on Friday. Reportedly, the woman's burnt body was found in Shamshabad, the same locality where the vet doctor was abducted on Wednesday night. The woman is yet to be identified and is said to have been 35-year-old. Here's more.
Body was still burning when police arrived
Police told The News Minute that the body was found near a temple in Siddulagutta by passers-by on Friday, just a few kilometers away from where the doctor was abducted and later raped and murdered. The police learned about the body at 9 pm and rushed to the spot. Reportedly, the body was still burning when patrol parties arrived, Shamshabad ACP Ashok Kumar said.
Body being moved to government hospital for autopsy
According to TNM, the police is looking at all angles, including suicide by self-immolation. However, they could not confirm if the two cases were linked. Cyberabad CP VC Sajjanar told ANI, "The body was found in an open area on the outskirts of Shamshabad. It is being moved to a government hospital for an autopsy. A case is being registered."
Four arrested for veterinary doctor's rape and murder
Separately, on Friday, four people were arrested for the murder of a 26-year-old veterinary doctor. The four accused—Mohammed Areef (26), Jollu Shiva (20), Jollu Naveen (20) and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu (20)—punctured the doctor's scooter after seeing her park it at the ORR toll plaza. When she returned to collect her scooter, they pretended to help her, then gang-raped and murdered her, and burned her body.
