Himachal: Two buses swept away in landslide, 50 feared dead
Over 50 people are feared dead as two buses were swept away in a landslide in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district. Four people have been rescued till now. One of the two Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation buses was carrying about 50 passengers from Chamba to Mandi, and the other Katra-Mandi bus had eight-ten passengers. The mishap happened sometime after midnight on the Manali-Mandi highway.
Rains hampering operations, but rescue personnel persist
Rescue operations started at around 2 in the morning, but have been hampered by constant rains. Police, home guard and army personnel are present at the site of the accident. CM Virbhadra Singh has also left from Shimla to review the situation.
