Aadhaar users can update details like their name (in case of marriage etc.), residential address (for reasons like migration, transfer etc.), Date of Birth, gender, mobile number, e-mail address, relationship status, Iris, Fingerprint and Facial photograph.
Why you should update your Aadhaar details
In order to avoid any documentary and official hassle in future, one should ensure all their Aadhaar details are up to date. According to UIDAI, all users must update their biometrics every 10 years, because of potential-changes on account of age, illness, or accident. For minors, biometric data needs to be updated once at age of 5, and again at 15.
How you can update your Aadhaar card details
For updating Residential Address in your Aadhaar card, all you have to do is log on the UIDAI website, and click on 'Aadhaar Update Request' link and place an address-upgrade request by uploading scanned copy of an Address proof, and submitting a system-generated mobile OTP. However, for updating information other than the address, you'll have to visit one of UIDAI's Permanent Enrolment Centres.
