#HealthBytes: Simple steps for DIY pedicure with natural ingredients
Our feet are among the most ignored body parts, but one must prioritize taking good care of them. If you wish to have a good skincare session for your feet without going out or spending a lot, you can do a pedicure right in the comfort of your home with the help of natural ingredients. Here's everything you need for a flawless DIY pedicure.
Here's everything you will need
You do not have to go rushing around collecting a plethora of fancy ingredients to conduct a home pedicure session. You just require honey, lemon, olive/peppermint oil, almond paste, shampoo, sugar, and salt. All these are readily available in any Indian household.
Hot water treatment
To begin your humble home pedicure session, take a small bucket or tub and fill it up with ample hot water. Soak your feet in it. Add a few drops of shampoo and a teaspoonful of salt to the container. Keep your feet soaked in the mix for about 10 minutes. This will give you salon-like relaxation without having to spend a penny.
Clean and cut your nails
Take your feet out of the water. Now, using a nail cutter and filer, cut and shape your nails the way you desire. Prepare a natural scrub using honey and sugar, and gently massage your feet with it for not more than five minutes. Next, wash off your feet with water, and cleanse using a foot-scrubber.
Finish off with natural moisturization
After you've tended to your nails and washed off the scrub, you just have to end things with a nice moisturizer. Prepare a natural moisturizer using almond paste, olive/peppermint oil, and lemon. The lemon is used to get a mild bleaching effect. Massage for nearly 15 minutes. Then, wash off gently with cool water. Finally, use a soft, clean towel to wipe your feet.
