Tips and tricks to help you become a morning person
What's the story
Deciding to become a morning person is a tough call, and actually trying to be one is tougher, to say the least.
But to be honest, it can be a life-altering change, as getting up early makes you more energized, increases productivity, boosts your mood, enhances sleep quality, and promotes exercising.
Here are easy tips and tricks to help you become a morning person.
Sufficiency, consitency
Make sure to get enough sleep; Have a consistent sleep-schedule
Get enough sleep: Stating the obvious here but being sleep-deprived and getting up early just don't go well together. Get your daily quota of 7-9 hours of quality sleep, to make getting up early easier.
Consistency: Ensure a consistent sleeping and wake-up schedule day-in and day-out, even if it's a weekend. This will set up your body clock, thereby helping you become a morning person.
Go slow, no snooze
Slowly change your waking pattern; Say goodbye to snoozing
Go slow: Suddenly changing your waking time from 9 AM to 5 AM isn't a good idea, and won't probably work in the long-run. So, go slow, and set realistic, short-term goals, to make it a habit overtime.
No more snoozing: Forgo the habit of setting umpteen alarms, and snoozing every 5 minutes. Set a single, practical alarm clock, and stick to it.
Lights, exercise
Get some natural light; Exercise in the morning
Get some natural light: Research suggests that a little light may help open up your eyes better in the morning. Exposing yourself to natural lighting sources will help. So, slide those curtains right as you get up!
Exercise: Exercising regularly is a great way to get you going each morning. It'll keep you fresh, healthy, and will improve your mood as well.
