Bizarre: Delhi school transports CBSE Class 12 answer-sheets in metro
In a grave security violation, a Delhi school was found transporting answer scripts of CBSE Class 12 from the exam center to the board headquarters by Delhi Metro. The incident came to light after a commuter on the same metro, lawyer Tarun Narang, wrote to the CBSE exam controller about it. The board has once again directed centers to ensure strict adherence to rules.
Lawyer saw man carrying answer-sheets on the Blue Line
On Tuesday afternoon, Narang boarded a metro From Dwarka Court to Janakpuri. There, he saw a man carrying a package. Subject (chemistry), center number (8222) and other details were written on it. When asked, the man, an employee of Mata Kasturi Devi School of Najafgarh, said the exam superintendent had sent him to deposit the answer-sheets to the board headquarters in Preet Vihar.
How are answer-sheets supposed to be transported?
Narang then wrote to the board about the "very unsafe" process, seeking action against the center and superintendent, and requested CBSE to check how other centers are operating. Explaining the rules, a school principal said, "A teacher personally goes to deposit the answer-sheets using the school's vehicle. They are dropped to the CBSE nodal center." CBSE PRO Rama Sharma iterated there are "set parameters."
CBSE directs all exam in-charges to "personally" ensure rules followed
Yesterday, CBSE wrote to all exam centers, asking in-charges to "personally" ensure such incidents aren't repeated. As for the sheets transported by metro on Monday, the board said it has verified the "secrecy of answer books." "The secrecy of answer books has not been compromised and the sanctity of examination has been maintained," it said. The Class 12 exams will end on April 13.
