J&K- Hizbul Mujahideen module busted in Handwara, two arrested
What's the story
Security forces busted a terror module and nabbed two Hizbul Mujahideen members in Jammu and Kashmir's Handwara. Two supporters were also arrested in Awantipora.
The two men arrested, Mehrajudin and Obaid Shafi Malla, were residents of Awantipora. According to a police spokesperson, they were in Handwara to receive consignments of ammunition and more.
They had been entrusted with acquiring arms and radicalizing local boys.

What happened?
On the basis of intel received, joint teams of police and 21 RR set up barricades at Chogal. The two men tried to flee, but were nabbed.
They then led cops to the two supporters in Awantipora.
Police said the arrested men "were misusing web chats to hatch and execute terrorist conspiracies"; cops had found "incriminating material" through their social media accounts.

South Kashmir is a hotbed of insurgency. Ninety-nine of the 200 active terrorists in the Valley are from the southern districts.
Amid a wave of violence, forces have also stepped up security. Search operations are being conducted after 15 years. Last week, the army killed 13 terrorists.
Cross-border infiltration attempts are also on the rise; this year, 40 intruders have been shot dead.
