Helicopter crashes in Pune; 2 pilots, engineer killed
A helicopter crash in Pune's Bavdhan area on Wednesday morning has left three people dead. Among the deceased are two pilots and an engineer. The incident happened around 6:45am in a hilly area, just after the helicopter took off from a nearby golf course helipad.

The helicopter burst into flames upon impact, making it difficult to determine whether it was a government or private aircraft. Senior Inspector Kanhaiya Thorat from the Hinjewadi police station told news agency PTI, "It is yet to be ascertained whose helicopter it was as it is currently up in flames." Images and videos from the scene show the helicopter ablaze with thick smoke billowing out.
Rescue operations underway
After the incident, four fire tankers from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) rushed to the spot. The exact cause of this tragic accident is still unclear. However, police officials have hinted that the dense fog in the area might have played a role in the mishap. Further reports are awaited.
