MoS status to seers irks opposition, take digs at BJP
The decision to grant MoS status to seers, who pledged to take out a 'Narmada scam yatra' to expose corruption in river cleanliness drive, got BJP flak from Congress. Congress had tweeted, "Kudos to BJP for always finding novel ways to hide their corruption! They've outdone themselves by rewarding religious leaders who were campaigning against corruption in Madhya Pradesh with Minister of State status."
Seers get at task, announce Narmada Conservation drive
After being bestowed with the MoS status, two seers out of the five (included in a committee to save Narmada) performed religious rituals on the river's bank on Friday. The famous Computer Baba said, "From today, we have launched the Jan Jagaran Abhiyan (mass awareness drive) to motivate people towards plantation on the banks of Maa Narmada, cleanliness and water conservation."
