    Haryana: Day after wedding, woman gang-raped by husband and relatives

    What's the story

    In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old woman was raped by her husband and his relatives in Babain area of Kurukshetra, Haryana.

    The victim got married on September 12, and on the night of September 13, was allegedly raped by nine men, including four unnamed tantriks.

    A case was registered on the basis of a complaint of the victim's father, but no one has been arrested yet.

    The incident

    Woman given spiked-drink; After she passed out, relatives raped her

    According to the complaint, on September 13, a day after the wedding, she was given a spiked drink by her husband's relatives.

    She was allegedly locked in a room and she had lost her senses.

    The woman was raped by her brother-in-law and her husband's brother-in-law. A day later, four tantriks came to perform some ritual, and they raped her too.

    Action taken

    Case registered, woman medically examined, says police officer

    The ritual was reportedly planned by the husband, his father, his mother and sister. The accused even threatened to kill the victim. The complaint mentions the husband's relatives and tantriks.

    Station House Officer of Kurukshetra women police station, Inspector Sheelavanti confirmed the FIR was registered.

    She said, "We have got the woman medically examined and the samples have been sent for a lab test."
