Haryana board Class 10 results declared: Details here
The Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) has declared the results for this year's Class 10 board examinations. The board had declared the Class 12 results on Friday, and the Haryana education minister had announced that the Class 10 results would be declared today. Here are the details.
The BSEH board examinations, broken down by numbers
This year, 383,499 students took the Class 10 examinations, while 222,388 students took the Class 12 examinations. 4,976 instances of cheating were detected collectively during this year's Class 10 and Class 12 exams.
Haryana's passing rate sees a minuscule improvement
The average passing rate in the BSEH Class 10 board exams was just 51.15%. In 2017, only 50.49% had passed. Girls, as usual, outshone boys with a 55.34% passing rate, as compared to boys' 47.61%. Kartik of Nav Durga School, Jind, topped the exams with 99.6%, while Celina Yadav, Saloni, and Hari Om jointly secured the 2nd position with 99%.
Girls beat boys again in Class 12 board results
The Class 12 board exams results, however had a better passing rate with 63.84% of candidates passing the exam. But it was slightly lower than last year's 64.50%. Again, girls were ahead with 72.38% as opposed to boys' 57.10%. Notably, students of rural schools performed better in the exams than their urban counterparts - rural pass percentage was 64.75% while urban was 62.04%.
