Haryana BJP chief, singer accused of gang rape in Kasauli

Haryana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Mohanlal Badoli and singer Jai Bhagwan (Rocky Mittal) have been accused of gang-raping a woman in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, PTI reported.
The Himachal Pradesh Police registered an FIR against the two men on December 13, 2024.
The complainant alleged that the incident occurred at a Kasauli hotel on July 3, 2023, when the accused reached out to her, promising her a government job and a role in a music video.

According to the FIR, the woman was staying at the hotel with her boss and friend when they met Badoli and Mittal, who introduced themselves as a political leader and a singer.
The accused allegedly made her drink alcohol before raping her.
Reportedly, they shot videos and clicked pictures of the act, threatening to kill her if she revealed the incident.

Accused charged under Indian Penal Code
The complainant also claimed that two months prior to filing the complaint, she was called to Mittal's house in Panchkula, where she was threatened with false charges.
The police have charged Badoli and Mittal under sections 376 D (gang rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
Both the accused have denied the allegations, calling them politically motivated.
Investigation
Investigation underway, no arrests made yet
Station-house officer Dhanvir Singh confirmed a case was registered, but the complainant refused a medical examination.
Solan Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh said an investigation is underway, with a few statements recorded but no arrests yet.
Both Badoli and Mittal have said they are ready for the investigation and demanded action against those responsible for what they called a conspiracy.
