Delhi: Gym-owner gets teacher thrashed as he cancelled son's membership
A gym-owner in Delhi had a 45-year-old school teacher brutally assaulted, all because he had cancelled his son's membership. So when recently, the victim told off some men getting drunk right outside his Ranhola home, the gym-owner instigated them to attack him. They later arrived with iron rods and hockey sticks, dragged him out of his house and thrashed him. One has been arrested now.
Kahn told off the men for drinking outside his home
Irshad Khan, the 45-year-old victim, has been working at GD Lancer's Public School since 15 years. Recalling the incidents of May 9, Khan said around 8:15pm, he saw three youths consuming alcohol and having loud abusive conversations outside his home. Khan saw Deepak, an acquaintance, among them. When he asked them to leave, Deepak apologized and said they would go in five minutes.
They left, only to return with iron-rods and hockey-sticks
Minutes later, one of them threw a beer bottle at the gate. "I came out again and shouted." Deepak apologized again, but another, Vishal, started misbehaving with Khan. The others restrained him and they all entered the gym across the road. Slightly before 11pm, a large group barged into their house carrying iron rods and hockey sticks. They dragged him out and thrashed him.
Police tracked the accused with their mobile phone
When Khan's family intervened, the youths hurled abuses at them. His children informed police, but by the time cops arrived, they had fled. Khan, who had fractured his left hand, was rushed to hospital. He has been there ever since and received nine stitches on his head and two on the leg. Meanwhile, police found a mobile-phone in his house, left behind the youths.
One accused arrested, hunt on for the others
Police traced the mobile to one Sushil Kumar. They tracked him and finally nabbed him Sunday. Kumar told cops that Khan's son "used to visit the gym but stopped a few weeks ago. He also asked others not to visit the gym. This angered the gym-owner, who hatched the plan." The owner and the others are on the run. A hunt is on.
