Gurugram: Realtor shot at as his twin-kids watched from school-bus
On Wednesday morning, a realtor named Mahesh Yadav was shot dead by five men, including two of his own cousins. Unfortunately, the murder was witnessed by his nine-year-old twins. At around 6: 30AM, Yadav put his kids and nephew on the bus in Sarai Alawardi, where the attackers were already waiting for him. The bus hadn't gone far when they rained bullets on Yadav.
Yadav tried running after being hit, but couldn't
Just as the 37-year-old realtor waved to his kids, the attackers gunned him in close range, eye-witnesses said. After being hurt by the first bullet, Yadav tried running but collided with an auto. The accused then fired more rounds of bullets. Gorkha, a cousin of Yadav, also shot him with his pistol. After killing him, the attackers got into an SUV and fled.
Locals rushed Yadav to hospital, he was pronounced brought dead
The kids aboard the school bus witnessed the cold-blooded murder and raised alarm after which the bus was stopped. Locals rushed Yadav to a nearby hospital, three kilometers away from the spot, where he was pronounced brought dead. Eye-witnesses told police the attackers went towards Najafgarh area. Police believe property dispute might be the reason behind the crime.
Kids were traumatized, couldn't speak, reveals deceased's brother
Mahesh Yadav's brother, Pankaj informed the kids were traumatized. "It took two hours to counsel them after which they narrated the incident to the family and investigating officers," he said. Further, the family alleged police of inaction and said they reached the spot an hour later. To protest against the laxity, residents also blocked railway tracks, which delayed three local trains.
Police hope to nab accused soon
Keeping the police's side, Sumit Kuhar, deputy commissioner of police (crime) said the incident took place near railway tracks and hence fell in the jurisdiction of Government Railway Police (GRP). A case was registered at GRP police station on Pankaj Yadav's complaint under relevant sections of IPC. All the accused are at large and police have recorded statements of five eye-witnesses.
