26-year-old IIT, IIM alumnus found dead in his Gurugram apartment
On Tuesday, a 26-year-old IIT and IIM alumnus was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his rented apartment in Gurugram's DLF Phase 5. The deceased, Mehul Priyadarshi, hailed from Ranchi in Jharkhand, and had been working as a business strategist for a global consulting firm in Cyber City since June this year. What's known about Mehul Priyadarshi
An engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, Priyadarshi had completed his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow. He lived on a sixth floor apartment at the Princeton Estate in Gurugram's DLF Phase 5. Notably, Priyadarshi lived with two other flat mates, who were his batch mates from IIM-Lucknow.
Priyadarshi's flat mates were away for Raksha Bandhan celebrations
According to the police, Priyadarshi's flat mates had been away for Raksha Bandhan celebrations and returned on Monday evening to find the door to his room being locked. After he didn't respond to their requests to open the door even on Tuesday morning, the duo alerted security guards who broke open the door to find the 26-year-old hanging.
No suicide note was found, investigations are underway
Owing to the situation explained earlier, Priyadarshi's time of death could not be ascertained. His body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Although police believe that he committed suicide, they found no suicide note. Police are currently talking to his flat mates, and have seized his locked phone and laptop in hopes of finding more clues. Priyadarshi's family has also been informed.
