This 27-year-old had his wedding without a bride. Here's why
A perfect wedding day is a dream for most. Everything, right from the outfit, to the venue and makeup, is considered while planning. This 27-year-old man from Gujarat was no exception, and as per his wishes, his wedding was held on May 10 at a village in Himmatnagar, Gujarat. However, the gala event had one essential element missing: The bride. Here's what happened.
Ajay was born with learning disability, didn't complete formal education
27-year-old Ajay Barot was diagnosed with a learning disability when he was a child and therefore, never got to complete his formal education. His family knew that this would obstruct the possibility of getting a bride for him, who had an incredible love for weddings and was eagerly waiting for his. Ajay's father, Vishnubhai Barot, made sure his son's dream comes true.
Every wedding made Ajay wonder about his big day
Vishnubhai, who works at Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation as a conductor, said, "He (Ajay) used to enjoy the wedding processions of other people and asked us about his wedding. We were unable to answer his question as it was not possible to find a match for him." When in February, Ajay's cousin got married, he was disheartened that his wedding was not organized.
'Sangeet' ceremony and other other rituals were organized day before
Meanwhile, in order to make his dream come true and him happy, Ajay's family members decided to hold a wedding procession. Wedding cards were printed, guests were invited, and the family made arrangements at a nearby community hall for 800 people and spent Rs. 2 lakh. Moreover, Ajay's stepmother even organized a sangeet ceremony along with other rituals a day before his wedding.
Kamlesh described Ajay as a good dancer, who loves music
Alongside, Ajay's uncle, Kamlesh, described him as a good dancer, who loves music. He said, "Every time there is a celebration in the village, Ajay is the first one to be there to perform. But it always pinched him that it wasn't his own wedding." "I am very happy that I fulfilled my son's dream without thinking about what society would say," said Vishnubhai.
'All families with special children should fulfil their desires'
While talking about the ceremony, Hasmukh, Ajay's brother, said, "Ajay's dance at his own wedding procession will be one to remember for the rest of our lives. All families with special children should fulfill their desires. It can be a positive step in their lives."
No bride? No problem, Ajay enjoyed the wedding procession nonetheless
Moreover, Ajay was okay with no bride as long as the wedding procession was for him. Eldest among four siblings, he had also dropped out of special school. "We couldn't afford to send him to a good school that would have admitted him despite this shortcoming. But he is sharp and has an understanding of a lot of things around him," Kamlesh said.
If he gets married, will make celebrations even bigger: Kamlesh
When asked about the possibility of a real wedding, Kamlesh said, "If it happens, we'll all be very happy but it seems unlikely because he is dependent on us for a lot of things. If he gets married, we will make the celebrations even bigger."
