Video: Crocodile spotted on Gujarat house roof after heavy rains
In a bizarre incident, a crocodile was spotted on the roof of a house in Vadodara, Gujarat. This unusual sighting occurred after heavy rainfall led to severe flooding in the Akota Stadium area. Currently, Gujarat is grappling with flood-like conditions due to continuous heavy rainfall across the state. The floods have killed at least 28 individuals and left thousands stranded.
Red alert issued as IMD predicts more downpours
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert in several districts of Gujarat, warning residents about the possibility of more heavy rainfall in the coming days. The department has also forecasted "heavy to very heavy rains at a few places with isolated extremely heavy falls" in all districts of Saurashtra-Kutch, including Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar Morbi Dwarka Gir Somnath Botad Kutch and Diu.
Indian Army mobilizes resources for relief efforts
Meanwhile, the Indian Army has mobilized its resources to assist in the ongoing relief efforts in Gujarat. Six units are currently conducting rescue operations in the most severely affected areas, providing immediate humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. In Dwarka, eight people were rescued from flood-affected areas by the Fire Brigade. Thirteen teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and 22 teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been deployed across Gujarat.
